SCULPTURE GARDENS at Oak Lane lodge
Visit the Oak Lane Lodge gardens and follow the Pukeko’s on the garden walk as they take you through Camelia Lane along to the Green Chapel and past the Olive Grove.
The Oak Lane Lodge garden tour was created to showcase the green zones and planting found on the property. The wonder of the walk is the hidden sculptures you will discover in amongst the trees and grounds found on the tour map.
Artist Mike Holtom from Te Kauri Metal Art works in metal creating works that depict his love of the sea and the land. A panel beater by trade and a commercial fisherman with over 20 years experience, Mike had dabbled in pottery and painting until he had a request for some metal work and his love for zincalume and copper began. He created his art in a “real kiwi bloke’s shed” and when he is not working can be found following his other passion of flyfishing.
Mike is an a award winner designer and his work can be found in galleries throughout the country.
Archery at Oak Lane Lodge
At Oak Lane Lodge we have the ancient sport of Archery available for our guests to try. Whether it’s a competitive team building event, a fun party activity or a novel activity for a weekend away we can tailor the service to meet your needs. No experience is necessary and all safety equipment is supplied.
The Archery set up is of international international standards and we shoot bother recurve bows and compound bows using mainly carbon fibre target arrows.
(No special gear is required just comfortable clothes and long hair must be tied back.)
